It is easy to automate this – on your Tyro terminal or through your POS software.

Am now treating surcharges as a necessary business cost. We flirted with surcharges but gave them up as unworkable. Highlighted by $10 limit challenged one day by 3 successive customers.
1st had winnings of $80 on lottery, reinvested $70 and with 2 magazines had $7 to pay. I let the card go through.
2nd had several newsapapers,a magazine and a pen. Customer wanted to pay cash but only had $20 and asked to top up with $6 on card. I let the card go through.
3rd had witnessed the first 2 and approached with 2 greetings cards costing $9 with credit card in hand. This person also happened to be one of our most regular and biggest spenders. I let the card go through.
Sure it irks me when someone pays for a $1.60 paper with a card. We now smile and say of course. In the bigger picture, it ain’t worth discussing.
Mark,
How do we incorporate the TYRO charges each month. They are a cost of taking eftpos.
