Check out how Coles is promoting discount newspapers from News Corp. at the moment. I hope News Corp. does not do for newspapers what Bauer did for magazines by making discount bundles the new normal and educating customers to expect them.

Content sells print media products more so than price.
I can never understand why companies do this? Lets train our customers to think that we believe the price we charge is a rip off!No other product in my store has more complaints about the price than newspapers. In my opinion the companies should have started training their customers to focus on content, not price as that is what will keep their products viable in the future.

This looks like the same deal being offered by Blueshyft Newsagents. It’s an attempt to lift sales of the Oz, but the last time we did this it only provided an uptick during the promo, it didn’t translate in to regular sales increases.

Woolworths is also promoting to their loyalty card holders offering 200 points when they purchase their newspapers at woolworths, I had a customer come in angry at this and told woolies she will be shopping at Aldi frpm now on
