What a joke, a sad sad joke.

The increase for HD “allowed” by News does not even cover the wage increases from 1/7/16 and now we have 1/7/17 coming.

For many years the backbone of New’s (and Fairfax) , Newspaper distribution has been efficient distribution to both Retail and Home delivery readers.

I call on News to publicly explain these increases in light of last years wage increase and the increase to come on 1/7/17.

The date of the annual review needs to be changed to September, NOT March. I call on News to conduct another review in September, to take into count the 1/7/17 wage increase.

All Supplies to Subagents need to be at 12.5%, not the current levels.

Has anyone at News even looked at the pay rates we are forced to pay? Sure we could sack all the staff and try find people who would work at half the rate as a contractor – is that what News wants – a work force delivering their product at “slave” (read 711 stores …. is anyone at News listening?) rates, it’ll go down well on the ABC and other electronic media.

Everyone needs to make a “profit” in the distribution chain.

The value of all Distribution business’s just went down again with sad joke of an increase.

News papers, are they worth worrying for retail stores have low turnover? I suspect not.

John as you know this treatment of News Corp “agents” has been going on for years.

News has taken advantage of poor negotiation skills, by various Newsagent representative bodies over many years. Also there has been a lack of will for Newsagents to stick together particularly in the Metro areas.

News Corp. will not increase fees to correct commercial levels just because its the right thing to do, history shows News Ltd will screw Newsagents down to the last cent, that’s the reality of it.

So to expect News to treat us as we expect to be treated is an absurd assumption.

History has shown News Corp will use Newsagents to deliver it’s product for the remuneration it determines and whilst Newsagents are compliant
    nothing will change.

Suppliers determine the respect and support they receive from newsagents by the terms settings they impose in newsagents.

By increasing the delivery fee by so little it would appear the News Limited are quite happy to see distribution cease sooner rather than later. From our own figures an increase of at least 10c a day is needed to make delivery remotely viable.

The reality is News should permit those providing the service to set their own fees and thereby let market forces prevail. The cap on fees has maintained too many home delivery newsagents as working poor.

Yep sooooo glad we got out of that game a long time ago . Everyone should hand back their runs and let News limited service their own customers and see how long that last for .
