On Saturday someone started trying to hack this site. In all, close to 2,500 attempts. They got in several times and changed the most recent blog post. The security weakness was found in the WordPress platform we use. It has now been fixed.
Bernard Zimmermann, Director of POS Solutions, commented inaccurately on his company blog about this post. I responded to set the record straight. So far, Zimmermann, as is his want, has blocked by comment:
Where was the IP from?

Why on earth would anyone want to hack into a blog site about Australian Newsagents. Seems bizarre.

Probably looking for any site running a vulnerable installation of WordPress they could exploit for their own ends.

Nothing to do with content here. The vulnerability was global with WordPress.

Perils of the cloud and global server hosting I suppose.
