Selling News Corp. Hasbro Board Games on eBay

I was surprised to see many eBay sellers offering the recent News Corp. Hasbro Board Games including this one that has sold 57 units so far.

Looking further at some of the sellers it is surprising the extent of their offers. I’d love to know the revenue they are generating and if this makes the promotions worthwhile in the long run.

For us these promos do not increase sales like they did years ago. A lot of customers now associate these with a price increase.
I would personally like to see the cost of these promos spent on better journalism and not some of the crap they pass off as jounalism.
    After all they are NEWSpapers.

I emailed news limited reps and managers about a newsagent selling promo sets before release and below cost price.

this joker is selling the hasbro games too.

I suspected they claim the credits on return but keep them to sell online.

    Didn’t even get a response.

Good on your disgruntled. It is important newsagents call this behaviour out. Too many see something wrong and never complain.

    Hi Mark

Have a closer look at what this seller is trying to flog on ebay:

The catalogue of goodies he has available is interesting – not just the Hasbro mini board games but the ANZAC coins, Marvel comics, boxes of AFL Trading Cards and back issues of a variety of magazines.

Its also not hard to tell that he is based in VIC – the News Corp items all refer to Herald Sun promotions.

Is he possibly claiming shortages or credits and then double-dipping by flogging all this stuff online?

If News Corp and GG were serious they would tackle this – took me a couple of clicks to see all of the above!

    Cheers

Interesting the Seller is from Clayton Victoria, who else lives at Clayton?

    Why Gordon & Gotch!
Seems they (according to Google) live at 37-49 Browns Rd., Clayton.

    What do you think Mark?

Delivery driver who is supposed to take back returns but keeps them or sells/gives them to another person.
    Too easy.

If this behaviour were in consumer electronics or fashion. They would be jumped on. Our industry is stuffed to gills with self interest and lacking in performance standards. Nothing will be done if the supply is excess stock finding it’s way to the market.
