Here is another example of the start of a ransomware attempt. This email comes in and the immediate reaction is this isn’t for me. Being a suspicious type I don;t click on it. Plenty of newsagents are and this is why they are being locked out of their computers.
If an email looks suspicious, don’t open it just to check it out – you will be locked out as happened to two newsagents I know of today.
There are so many of these types of emails each day.
I use Mailwasher Pro which enables me to filter out the emails you don’t want before they hit my computers. Worth every cent of its small licence fee. I think these sorts of filters are critical in todays cyber security considerations

There is another very nasty scam going around where you get emails with subject lines like:
“Pending: your brand new Toyota Kluger”
“you have (1) giftcard pending”
“test and keep Nespresso Pixie”
and similar subject lines.
I have seen it for Oral B electric toothbrushes, Gillette razors, Nespresso coffee machines, cars from BMW, Toyota, Hyundai and others, gift cards from Bunnings, Coles and Woolworths and a few other brands but it could presumably happen with any brand that the criminals running the scam campaign think will get people to bite.
If you get one of these emails, do NOT click any links in the email as they will almost certainly lead you to a web site designed to infect your computer with something nasty.
