This tip is for any newsagents contemplating storing unsold Mother’s Day stock for next year. Don’t. Quit it or give it away, fast. Moving stock to the back room increases the costs associated with the stock. Quit it now. Start next year fresh.

Also get your till and take all the money and throw it in the rubbish bin. What bizzare advice.

Not bizarre at all Glenn in my opinion. If you do remove Mother’s Day specific to the back room until this season next year that is around 10 months for which there is no return on the inventory, the risk of damage, the cost of the storage space and the committing of the business to next year offer Mother’s Day stock from this year that failed to sell. If that is what you want go for it. It is not what I want as I want Mother’s Day 2017 to be fresh, competitive and relevant. Your analogy is faulty.
