I get it, any talk about data is boring.
The thing is, data is vitally important to the success of any business, especially a newsagency business today, in 2015. Data reveals trans in your business, how you are travelling and, most important, opportunities.
Too many newsagents continue to rely on their gut more than data. This is hurting too many businesses.
Mark, I wonder if you have done any work using ‘dispersion’ in your data. When we come to arguing about MPA’ ludicrous table for future supply ( masquerading as ‘sales efficiency’), it would be good if we could show in a scientific way what a rational prediction of future sales would look like.
For example, we would be able to state the chances of future sales as within + or – X; or better still:the chances of sales not falling in this range.
