Mumbrella today reports Pacific Magazines is to release three new adult colouring titles prior to Christmas.
While smart newsagents prefer the book titles off of which they make double the margin, the magazine titles play a role in the adult colouring space of any store.
I use the magazine colouring in books as fill when I have sold out of higher GP books. They do not get the same premium space as the other books get but it is good to leverage the brand names like BHG to increase sales of all books.

I am getting a bit sick of them. Sales are now walking instead of running and I think they might be down to a crawl pretty soon. I have Christmas stuff arriving , diaries , gifts and now more colouring books!

Carol I hear you on range of stock but do think there are things we can do to grow sales – like engaging with the products in-store. Look for some tips I’ll write tomorrow.

I had a huge pile of magazine colouring books for backup stock which is now not required so it all went back without seeing daylight.
Indiscriminant returns, I don’t care because I didn’t ask for the stock and didn’t want it in the first place.
We have rent to pay every month and anything with a higher GP instead of unwanted magazines is more beneficial to us.
