Why all the posts today about Network Services?

The posts I have published today reflect data from one newsagency. The newsagent sent me the screen shots as evidence of the appalling oversupply they are suffering and have been suffering from Bauer’s Network Services.

While the company reps say one thing to the ACCC and have the ANF under their spell, the company does this month after month to small business newsagents.

No wonder newsagents continue to scream abut oversupply.

No study is needed to stop tis behaviour y Bauer. They are in control.

Just to even it out a bit and so Gordon and Gotch don’t feel left out of the useless allocation problem today I received to magazines of TATTOO PINUPS with a hot price sticker of $14.95 old price label from another newsagent has it at $19.95 return date of 04/08/2014. My problem is some clown at Gordon and Gotch had the time to put the big Hot sale price on but didn’t think of taking off the old price stick from the previous newsagent . Who wants to guess where these to mags are going

National Geographic now has about 7 different editions vying for space. We are overloaded enough with puzzle books that are delayed billed so we are stuck with them in the shop but we are now receiving more puzzle books from AWW, BHG etc. I am sick of bagged kids mags with bulky attached gifts that are meant to attract kids but don’t fit our mag pockets. They are a constant mess. We are getting more and more caravan & camping & Off road. Just how many patchwork books can we sell in at town with just over 2000 residents. We cancel supply or try and then they are back in double the number within a few months.

I hear you on the whole 4WD thing, they have return dates weeks AFTER the replacement mag has arrived and they create new titles monthly. Its a mess

Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. If you have the evidence you say you could bring the matter before them for a low cost for adjudication.

    See this: http://www.newsagencyblog.com.au/2013/11/01/here-is-one-way-newsagents-can-approach-magazine-oversupply/

Mark, with regard to QCAT and/or other Tribunals do you have any records of results of matters put to them by Newsagents in the past ?
    Are they effective ?
Are their judgements final and legally binding on all parties ?

Lance I am not aware of anyone doing this. I have used VCAT in matters relating to landlords and a commercial dispute and yes the judgments are binding.

Another problem for us that probably will not be addressed by network or gotch, The beginner’s Guide To Running No1 reissued again to us We first received it in August 2013 and have receivced it 3 times since. todays 2 are dusty dirty creased and a big sticky patch where another newsagenrs label has been poorly removed, still expected to pay the same price for their old dead stock with a return date of week 42. Is this being addressed in the trial?

If I thought the regulators were serious, I would take the distributors on in court, problem is i would spend a truck load of cash to see them get a flogging with a feather duster, they know it, I know it the regulators know it.

Had 20 Good Chef Bad Chef on the shelf, Network in their wisdom thought we needed 3 more.

For every action there is a reaction. We returned 20 and kept the 3, probably should have sent back the lot.

For publishers who deal with network, you are no doubt losing sales.
