Newsagents should check security for magazine bulk deliveries as I have heard a couple of reports over the last week of theft of bulks. If your delivery point is not secure you may not get a credit for stolen stock.
This is virtually impossible in a high st situation. Our mags used to be delivered at about 4 am which was perfect. Since they changed to Toll they now get delivered between 7 and 10pm the night before. So after a long day at work we gave to head back again and wait for magazine deliveries. I know there is logistical considerations but I would have thought if a company deliberately delivers stock outside of normal hours and leaves it on the footpath then they must take responsibility if it goes missing.

I thought the same, then NDC changed my route to receive them with the supermarket run so I got the at 2pm the following afternoon.
To rub salt into the wound, my GG deliveries where also changed, or I would be charged a delivery fee.
I think that as there has been a change in long standing arrangements you ought to be ok. Maybe a letter to the distributor noting the change and advising them that you consider the risk to be theirs. Line in the sand.

When my son worked for officeworks as a store manager they dictated the terms for
all deliveries and if goods were delivered and they (officeworks) weren’t ready for them they were sent away and had to schedule another delivery.
That we don’t even get the right to check our stock when it is delivered is a moot point. We should be in our shops when deliveries are done and that is another issue that needs to be resolved.

June different business to office works. Don’t think I would want mags and papers turning up during the day (open hours) maybe those effected could arrange to pick up from a depo ?
