With Inside Out continuing with their Coles exclusive $6 discounted price I am not stocking it. Shame on the publisher for permitting one cheap price at Coles and a higher price elsewhere. Is this the only way they can sell the title?
Mark,
Also there is a subscription insert offering the mag for $6 for 3 issues then $17.49 for the next 3 issue there after.
This seems like an offer from New Life Media using Coles to help bypass newsagents.

My brother who used to work for NANA tells me that Publishers are paying rent space for Supermarket Shelves for their Magazines so in return some of them give the big Supermarkets a better deal i.e. lower price and/ or freebies. Is this right? I just saw an offer re Buy Delicious or Super Food Ideas Magazine and get your Free Easter Muffin Tray.

That last comment offer in Woolworths Free Easter Muffin Tray.
Mark supermarkets have a range of charges suppliers can face including pocket subsidies and marketing fees. Publishers will tell you that supermarkets get 25% like us and ignore these other financial benefits they pay. They do it because of the power of the supermarkets.
