I was surprised to see Dolly magazine on sale for $4 in a newsagency this week. I can’t think of any way Dolly could be offered in this newsagency for this price and be profitable for the newsagent as the common purchase price for newsagents is $5.9625. The $4 price leaves me wondering if there is a deal which was not available to all newsagents. I’d love to hear from others about this.
Looks like someone “found” some extra stock if you ask me
I wondered that too Shaun. It’s why I am not identifying the location.
Claim early returns then sell the stock. Unfortunately some agents do this and it affects the whole channel. Examples like this give suppliers reason to dislike our channel.
Chris you are right.
why stop at Dolly? Just sell every magazine for half price and return 100%
Gary that would result in your supply being doubled
Shayne ,first read your reply thought wtf are you on about ,read it again ,ahhh how true
off topic but couldn’t find one to put it under , now I could be wrong here but I think I have stumbled upon the worse case of reissue of a magazine ever .AUSTRALIAN ROAD RIDER BIKE GUIDE 2014 . Now this did come out in the beginning of January so I was a bit slow in early evicting it but FFS sending a 2014 bike guide in 2015 what is going on .
We received 20 copies of Precious Gems issue 1 today. Is this the third time they have run this?
We received 60 copies of Precious gems on Monday. Today a merchandizer came in to put it out for me and was surprised when I said I didn’t want it and I was sending it straight back.
I find it insulting when No 80 was only finalized a couple of weeks ago and I was selling zero of that (even though I put it up every fortnight).
This is sheer money grabbing and I won’t be a part of it.
The boxes are huge and they are being returned this week and I am cancelling the next issues forthwith.
I am happy to take new product but this
is recycled over and over and we are the bunnies who have to accept it. I WON’T
Problem is everyone wants to buy the gold one for $1.99 and it stuffs up our sales because they then send heaps for the next few and they don’t sell
