The Christmas special edition of The People’s Friend is one Christmas-themed magazine that sells well into the new year. While the Christmas editions of many other overseas titles struggle, this one performs as well as the main magazine itself – very well.
Mark, the PF has lots of serials so if you miss an issue you miss the serial.
I don’t think it is because it is a quality production but rather that it is an economic purchase.
June they usually only have three serials running each issue. 85% to 90% of the magazine is self contained. The specials, like this one, are always self contained.
