I don’t offer Bauer Reader Rewards in my newsagencies and so cannot answer this question. I’m asking it here because a non circulation product supplier asked me today as they are considering an app based loyalty program.
My view is these brand based loyalty programs are not helpful to newsagents as our businesses are not at the heart of the promotion. Our business should be at the heart of any loyalty offer in our business.
Also, any loyalty program must be easily understood and simple in execution. The Bauer program is neither.
Not one single request that I know of, mind you pulled all the promo stuff down ages ago.

Have a few customers that once purchased else where so even if I have scored one customer that’s a bonus . Theres no extra work involved and it cost nothing so its all good

Very difficult to actually claim if you are not under the age of 20! Easy to put point of sale behind magazines which is better than nothing being there

We heavily promoted it and had all relevant POS up for 3 months and not a single redemption. Too complicated and long winded for all involved (customers and us).
Much better with a single whole of business loyalty offering.

Only redemption we had was from a customer on holidays who’s daughter owns a Newsagency and told her to join….. Loyalty programs must be individual business based to work in my opinion

We have 2 only that use the app both early 20`s with smartphones. Our demographic is mostly older that have a basic mobile phone just to receive calls
