21st Century Media, through distributor IPS, next Saturday launches Australian National Review, the print version of it’s news website 21st Century News. Here is a video which positions the new newspaper:
Saturdays are the print media battleground of the month.
Sadly, I believe that newsagents are being used and abused with the latest 2 new national papers.
The Saturday Paper was launched on the eastern seaboard and I requested copies to be sent to SA. I got 10 and built it to
31 within a couple of weeks but now that they have used us to launch the paper and show what it looks like in a retail (costing us of course) setting they are already pushing subscriptions (and I understand that).
It is frustrating to have this happen time and time again but with newspapers in decline I don’t think we should be expected to launch their product with a view to losing customers immediately to the digital copy.
It really is only giving them free advertising in our retail space.
I am rethinking this space on a daily basis.
