Overnight I ran a Facebook campaign promoting the release today of a special edition of New Idea with wedding photos of the Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie nuptials. The interaction tells me this will be a good seller. Thousands of interactions with the Facebook post, 200+ new likes a ton of shares. So before we’re even open we know the interest is massive. Social media can help us engage even while we are closed.
This issue isnt onsale till Monday 8/9/14 in WA yet I have had customers coming in to get the Brad & Ange wedding special. I checked out the NI facebook page which states “Out Now” and Out Thursday”. While I understand trying to explain where it is and isnt onsale muddies the message a bold statement without qualification just leads to disappointed customers standing at my counter.

Steve do a preorder form get them to prepay so they will not be disappointed.

Mark I have started a supplimentary put away list but prepaying I just find a logistical nightmare. Its not a huge problem it just erks me when a business with a large marketing department like Pacific Magazines dont realise the implications of what they are saying and I’m left to explain it face to face.
