Where do you place magazine labels?

I have shot some training videos for people working in newsXpress newsagencies this week. Each is two or three minutes and on a single topic. Here is the three and a half minute video on magazine label placement that I thought might interest readers here:

Getting stuff like this is vital for us to be seen as professional across our channel.

    You forgot about put aways…

Why is it necessary to label them? Is it to do with Tower software?

One of the benefits of a mag put away compared to subbing mags is they are in better condition, thanks to not being handled by Ozpost. This situation always got me, since I’ve got to peel the label off, if I value the mag, to keep it long term.

John putaways were not part of the purpose of the video. Label them only if you want to. I recommend it for tracking collections back to each customers.

Labelling is something that has to be taught as where the label is makes a major change to the front cover. On the putaside issue – we putaside over 500 magazines a month so labelling them is the only way of knowing who is getting what!

Chris you’re right about label placement. This is one of the reasons I did the videos as part of a suite of training videos for newsagency staff.
