A deal between AN Post and supermarket giant Tesco to place postal points in supermarkets will harm post offices according to a report published by Independent.ie.
This is another most by a postal service pushing their traditional services into mass retail and thereby challenging the postal service model.
The Tesco involvement will have the Australian supermarket giants watching – just as LPO operators should be watching.
True it challenges the Post model, but also the paid small parcel market especially if they do dispatch and receivals. Though it only challenges small paid parcels for the retail side not the commercial or business ti business.

Slightly off the topic , but it is interesting that News will use Australia Post to deliver the Weekly Times promo books this year. At Australia Post parcel rates it would also have been a worthwhile exercise for us.
