Is Tuesday still the quietest day of the week for newsagents?

It used to be that Tuesday was quiet for newsagencies. With OzLotto and Powerball regularly jackpotting and with the change in magazine delivery days it’s time to ask newsagents about their busiest and quietest trading days.

This survey has two quick questions by store location and type. Click here to take the brief survey.

I just did the survey and totally disregarded Sunday for some reason but it is barely worth opening on Sunday. The Survey will have to take into account different delivery days in remote areas to give a clear picture of any change in slow days. It is also traditionally quiet for a few weeks before Christmas in my business, Nov – Early Dec.

We are a Tatts outlet so that may influence our results. From 1st July to date in order;- Saturday, followed by Thursday, Friday, Wednesday & Tuesday on par, Monday and the slowest day is Sunday (we are only open 1/2 day).

Tuesdays and Sundays are now fairly similar doing about 2/3 to 3/4 of a Monday or Wednesday.

We are a suburban newsagency located in NSW. Our busiest days are Monday, Saturday and Sundays. Thursday are not too shabby -working to brilliant if poweball is high. Our worst trading day is Wednesday when the whole centre is dead. This is compacted for us, as we no longer have Wednesday magazines to draw the locals in. Now we suffer through Wed to get wacked with new mags and powerball on the one day. Hope this helps
