News Corp. is delaying the introduction of DTI Circulation – its national circulation and subscriptions system which is already in place across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. No reason has been given for the delay in SA. News has advised that the WA implementation will be undertaken later this month.
it may be due to the fact that the Iservices portal doesnt work properly and is one of the least user friendly sites to visit and navigate >While magazine oversupply is one of our biggest issues, newspaper undersupply on these big weekends is now becoming more detrimental to our business. We were short supplied over 400 Herald Suns this morning ( approximately a 1/3 of what had been ordered)We are a coastal resort town in southern Victoria and have extreme variations of our supply needs depending on holiday seasons. Everyday this week I was on the iservices site doing our figures for sat sun mon tues(cup day) as every day they were put back down to our normal level. each time followed a phone call to hwt explaining our figures were based on data from previous years and would be told it would be fine. As late as friday we were assured we would get what we asked for. Saturday we got what we asked for.Even based on those figures we ran out yesterday just after 1.30pm Newspapers are not quite dead yet. I checked our supply figures at about 1.00 pm before I went home yesterday and it still showed we would get what we asked for today but come this morning less turned up than what we get on a normal quiet sunday.I was supposed to be having this morning off to spend time with our children but instead had to drive 50 km to meet hwt with extra papers that they still had in Melbourne. Thank you Damien in extras for at least making that happen. This is happening far to frequently for it to be a one off mistake. With their technology and experience I do not understand how this can happen

The only way to fix under supply of newspapers is to let us adjust our figures each week online, not going thru reps.

that is what we are doing and HWT keeps changing them down

I’ll open a separate thread tomorrow for more comment.

iServices is the worst website I have ever used. I’ve used a lot. It’s bad enough on the Fairfax Connect site where we have to work out supply figures taking into account subscription & retail copies (hint for suppliers: to us they’re all the same….)
iServices has most of the same problems and in addition has been designed from the ground up as a tool for News Ltd, never considering the end-user.

I haven’t heard anything good about iServices yet, but the reason for the delay is likely to be a critical person being on leave around the end of November, the time it was originally meant to take over from Connect here in SA. That, plus the onset of Xmas holiday period would be the reason it was pushed out to February.
I sincerely hope that the issues and comments above are isolated and do not reflect what iServices means for most who have been using it for a while.
It would be great and really appreciated if more of the 1,000 odd visitors to this site would be kind enough to dot point describe the good and bad things about iServices.

Dennis,
We had problems entering returns, I thought it was just me but rep said there is a problem and IT was working on it (12 months ago).
Our weekly returns are now entered individually for each direct drop sub and Coles outlets, not altogether like we could at first. It takes more time doing it this way but its less of a hassle.
The other problem is he can’t see our weekend supply on a Wednesday or Thursday to adjust subs.
We make all adjustments thru rep not iServices.

Everyone should check their supplies with iservices , mine have been cut chopeed added figures all over the place eg sunday mail last week I cut myself back 100 papers well bright sparks decided to add about 150 on top of that order so my returns sunday would be aprox 250 papers . One of my subbys has been closed for 4 weeks last week I reset their supply bright sparks once again doubled the order WTF is going on every day they have changed orders that were just about spot on

Shauns, my supply for the daily Telegraph have been all over the place over under and not by a small amount. Today is the third Monday in a row I have got 1/3 of the papers required this is after changing the quantities on iservices then ringing circulation each time to confirm the quantities and stating YES I really need that amount of papers check what you supplied last year?. Today my CSR has returned to work an I gave her a piece of my mind and promised one more stuff up and the quantity I require for the retail sales will come out of the Daily Telegraph direct subscribers and they can sort out the mess and credits to their subscribers.

shauns, how where supplies of the Australian, mine where exactly as I ordered so the fact they get the DT so wrong is unbelievable. BTW my CSR tells me she had set the quantities based on previous years and she still can not figure how the quantities day to day are so different to what she had emailed me and I approved which where originally from circulation based on sales and returns on the same period last year.
