We have been grossly oversupplied with the AWW royal baby one-shot out today. Not just in my newsagencies but in several I spoke with – too much stock based on any reasonable assessment of what sells in these businesses including sales of AWW itself.
The title is also late to market with other royal baby one shots how and grabbing sales for weeks now.
Newsagents are also frustrated at the last day of the month issue.
Despite gross oversupply, we are giving this title support with display at the entrance to our magazine department. We’re giving it until Thursday. If we see no uptake by then we’re sending everything back.
Bauer should give us the ability to set our own supply rather than lumbering us with 40 or more copies that will never sell.
recieved only 4 and sold 2 so they got our supply correct ,but on another not still havn’t sold one copy of Elle , display has been taken down and it took ever bit of control to not early return it

We received 85 copies of the AWW royal
baby book and it still only has one photo
of the baby and lots of Charles and Camilla’s wedding and lots of other stuff.
My customers (royalty fans) have leafed through in disgust and suggested that the AWW are trying to sell them something with only a cover and nothing of relevance inside. Consequently I sold
one only today and I have given it top billing in the shop.
Going back on Thursday if no sales.

June it doesn’t make sense. This title is out too late and does not have content to match the marketing pitch.

I hope i am not being cynical to suggest another cash grab of over supply on this and many other mags on 30th september because even if you return the redit will only hit in November but you have to pay in October. Do the Maths 4000 newsagents x 50 over supply x $5 = $1million extra cash for a month. and I bet we all have more than 50 mags oversupply on the last 2 delivery days. Nah couldnt be!!! just a mistake in the allocations
