I’m helping a newsagency reconfigure their floor space and until they can get a mini-shop fit done they have been using old magazine fixtures to sell calendars. Calendar sales for September are more than double what they achieved for September in 2012. This works even better if you can locate calendars near the appropriate category of magazines for the calendar subject.
We have also taken magazine space for calendars, they can be seen by customers from outside our shop and they sell well from this placement.
We too are reconfiguring our shop, need to make changes to the first magazine isle and the stationery and gift shelving at back of shop. Mark if I send some photos of our current setup would you give us your thoughts on this. Thanks

We used empty magazine space a few years ago for calendars. Works a treat especially for large categories such as dog breeds.
