Promoting 30 best loved recipes partwork

We’re promoting 30 best loved recipes book collection partwork with our food titles as well as at the front of the newsagency. This partwork is an easy sell for our older customers whereas many recent partworks have appealed to a younger shopper.

We put partworks at the front of the shop on the lease line as well as in-store where it’s appropriate for the subject. For a bit of work and space we get an excellent return. Our focus is make the most of issue 1 and 2 and then manage time and space accordingly.

Same here Shaun, not a single sale.
I cant get excited about this as it’s the most unappealing food book I’ve ever seen, there’s enough cheapish meal mags put out by the weeklies so no more thanks.
Quality not quantity is what I want for my customers.
We do great sales with part works but there are too many happening at the moment.

I agree that the design could have been better. However it has been selling for us. Not huge numbers (a reflection of our younger demographic) but still a solid performance.

We’ll generally promote up to issue 3 on the shelf (less if its a dud and more if its a big hit).

I completely agree Jenny. The sheer number of partworkd is insane. With limited space it means that some of those titles are getting place in 2nd and 3rd rate locations. It has to be damaging to sales.
