That the Fairfax newspapers The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald publish in broadsheet format on the weekends continues to be a talking point among shoppers. Most are confused about the different formats. The difference certainly gets people saying which format they prefer. Tabloid is the favourite from what people tell me.
we have an older customer base, and the majority of them say they do not like the “compact” format. but I think it just might be the change they do not like.
every Saturday so far, we field questions about the change back to broadsheet.
Only had positive comments for new format, a bit of confusion at first on Saturdays but everyone is used to it now.
I’m glad they’ve kept Sat edition broadsheet, but I wish they’d changed the weekday format years ago. Best thing Fairfax has done for our sales.
