I have filmed a brief interview for Midday Report on ABC2 at noon today talking about challenges for newsagents in circulation and other enwspaper related changes.
After your blog abbout about not being able to get enough of the AGE. Are they printing less papers. Are Newsagencies getting enough papers? My sales are down but I attribute this to late delivery. Now midday instead of early moring since Cairns Post is being published in Townsville.

Carol since the chageover what time do the cairns agents get theirs .
Carol I suspect that all publishers are looking at cutting the cost of what they’d call waste. Look at what News and fairfax have done to interstate papers – seriously cut back.

Problem there though Mark is they cant call “interstate” papers waste because they are firm sale but it does not seem to matter. I have an order today for 3 Herald Suns (Vic) of fridays edition. I have 3 customer put aways so there is no risk but I only recieved one copy. I now have 2 customers that wont get there paper but I will still have to waste my time in claiming a credit for them……..arrrggghhhh!!!!

Cairns get theirs later but still early enough for home deliveries. Ours used to come on the Courier that brings the mail but is too late now so we have to get them on the bus that arrives at midday. Mark if only this could carry over to magazines. We could all save so much on handling, freight, trees.
