Further to my post yesterday about bookshops, take a look at the report in the Courier Mail yesterday about bookshops in Brisbane and their use of an e-book kiosk.
Maybe I’m missing something here. I can’t understand people going to a shop to purchase what they can download from anywhere.
I think a part of it, as noted in the article, isn’t purely the change in media from print to electronic but the question of price. Why pay $30 for a book here that can be purchased online for $14.50 ? One of my customers who’s a book publisher has more work lined up than he can handle at the moment and one of his mates who owns a discount book store chain has opened more stores/ outlet points because he is still finding books selling well at the right price.
