Since moving Ink from next to stationery to behind the counter sales have risen by 15%. we have not altered our advertising or promotion of the category other than the move.
In terms of performance of the behind the counter space, ink is more financially rewarding for us – from direct sales – than other products we have placed here.
Ink continues to account for more than 30% of our stationery sales.
That is a good result. I would like to take my cigarettes out of that space and do the same but where I am it is diffucult and costly to get new fixtures. I do have a small area on peg board that Ian installed but doe not look fantastic. We even have truoble getting peg board. What are others dong with cigarettes. Putting under counter or into steel cupboards or what?

Thank you Mark, this should solve my dilemma of where to put ink when we introduce it next month, we have slat wall there that was covered up with cig cupboard.
Carol we put our cigs in draws under the counter for a while then just got rid of them altogether.
Does anyone else have trouble getting tradesman to do small jobs, I’ve chased to for quotes on slat wall but no one comes back to me?

Slat wall is pretty easy to do your self ,you should be able to get it cut to size and just screw it into place

I still sell $2 – $2500 a week in cigs. I put my price up above recommendd because of extra handling time and no one seems to have noticed.
