For businesses used to having fresh product in-store, newsagencies would be feeling less than fresh today with thin newspapers, bumper editions of papers and magazines and not the usual three times a week magazine delivery.
It’s a bit Twilight Zone like … a perfect opportunity to consider changes for 2013 as we face the challenges and opportunities of falling newspaper and magazine sales.
And of course we have sold out of Tele’s by 1.30 pm (they reduce supply), and loosing sales!
Area rep on leave till 7th!

Currently stock raking Calendars and other seasonal stock and making notes and what to and not to order next year. It’s to hard to recall some of this in a few months when we start ordering for next year.

Here too – problem with supplies of papers. Out of Advertisers and Australians by lunchtime – can’t get extras.
One would think that the publishers were trying their best to kill off their own product — Oh!!!! maybe they are??????
Every year it is the same.
This year I would have lost thousands of sales for the above reason and if you multiply that by 4000 newsagents and
28,000 (approx) subbies that is a lot of papers and a lot of money lost to both the
company and the newsagent and the subagent.

Something unrelated people, last nite on ACA there was a story about a newsagenct’s delivery run, it was very bad publicity for the newsagent but if you have a look at the full footage on youtube you will see actually the customer had an agenda in mind. Please have a look at the following youtube link.
