Tatts adds SA to its pool

Tatts Group is acquiring SA Lotteries from the state government leaving only Western Australia as the non-Tatts lottery state.

As I noted recently, LotteryWest runs an excellent community engagement program associated with the sale of lottery products. The community value of this is considered to be significant to lottery agents I have spoken with.

As for the SA deal, the story SA Treasurer Jack Snelling saying they were worried they would not be part of the lottery block. That seems like a pretty weak excuse to me.

SA lottery agents should talk with their Sydney colleagues to get a heads-up on transitioning from a state lottery business to Tatts.

It’s the usual story in SA at the moment – what can we sell to hopefully present a surplus to the electorate. There’s not much left now – TAB, timber industry and now lotteries along with clipping the wings of the health budget

Hey ‘Bill’ stop putting in a website address with your comments unless it’s a real website.

Bill’s a bit of a duffer with the technology, but he’s right about the shares. Their rate of return so far in 2012 has been better than agency commission.

Whilst i have nothing to compare with, i am extremely happy with Tatts in Vic. Excellent marketing. Good support if you need it and good commission earnings if you are a mid level size outlet.

Have to agree with Craig. We make a lot of our money from Tatts and spend a lot of time pushing and promoting it.Tatts is what helps up stay afloat.
I don’t think they have anything to worry about.Tatts wasn’t treated fairly by the Vic Government so has to claw bck money from somewhere.

We have been advised that it is “business as usual” by SA Lotteries.
We have absolutely nothing left to sell in
this state and we are languishing economically but the govt will use this money to upgrade Adelaide Oval (where everyone goes —- not!!!!!).
The good ole boys win again. It costs a
motza to belong to SACA and they like
    it that way.

    Interesting that cricket wasn’t/isn’t paying
its way so they are turning Adelaide Oval
into the Crows headquarters because they
need the football money to survive.
It’s all about the money folks.
