Connecting with local promotions

Just Cars magazine is promoting Geelong revival, a two-day car racing event for Geelong in two weeks. What interests me about this is the magazine brand tie-in and the opportunity for newsagents in the region to get behind the event and to use it to help drive magazine sales. I hope that those involved have connected with newsagents.

    newsagents ON AIR, the radio station for newsagents is an excellent vehicle to put your local event ‘on the national map’. Geoff and Elaine’s East Geelong News is a NOA subscriber and we will be promoting this event with a cross promotional ‘more details in this month’s issue of Just Cars’ to all shoppers in store. It also provides our announcers withthe opportunity to put the call out nationally in store that shoppers who KNOW OF FRIENDS THAT MAY BE INTERESTED IN GEELONG REVIVAL can text/tweet/email/call their friends about it while they are IN STORE. Radio has always been a brilliant cross promoter medium and newsagents ON AIR takes it to extraordinarily new compounding effects. Think of it as newsagents own version of Macca’s Australia All over and you’ve got the general idea.
