WARNING: Ukash scam

Newsagents are being called today and have been called over the weekend and asked to print our a Ukash voucher. Some callers say they are from ePay. This is a scam.

  1. Never print out a voucher.
  2. Never give over a voucher to anyone unless they have paid you for it to the full face value.

There is a good Tumblr site with more about Ukash and related topics such as scams.

We are getting calls for Epay scam, we have recieved arround 6 phone calls in two weeks. Today we got one and after asking too many questions to them, they hang up. I did rang Epay and call was answered in Pakistan, as epay call centers in Pakistan. Some in that call center have given data base to some one. As the person called us today know my name and shop address as well. How the hell he got all the information, unless given to them from call center. We are very concern now, either more scam to follow. They have got our bank account details, as they do direct debit. We have notified to Epay office in Sydney today.
    Good luck ??

Parminder, good luck, I’m sure ePay in Sydney will help you work out if your
    account has been broken into.
We had a call from the lovely “Anthony from ePay” yesterday, my staff member claimed she couldn’t use a computer and he hung up. I said she should have said “This call is being recorded for Training Purposes ….”
I have personally talked one on one to every staff member about this and the Western Union scam that we were emailed about today also.
    Forewarned is forearmed.
