It’s a massive business taking care of rich corporate mates and rewarding athletes who can suck up to the right people to get the money they need to compete on the very expensive (and irrelevant) world stage.
Yeah, I am not a fan … for the reasons outlined in the story of the attack on the local London newsagent who wants to help his community get into the Olympic spirit.
Bad week ah not all athletes suck up(as you put it) how many olympic themed thing will you try to sell over the next few weeks

We have sold about $1000 worth of green and gold stationery items this week with a “show your support” promo, I cannot see how you can not want to support the olympics but went all out for the soccer world cup? Yes they are both big bullies but the event may just get customers out of the gloom and stop thinking about electricity accounts, carbon tax and all the rest and start thinking how good it is, that is unless the poms give us a flogging. The opinion I expressed here about the Olympics is a personal one on what I consider to be an economically and commercially corrupt event.
In my stores support for the Olympics is at full throttle.

I make money in my retail stores giving my customers what they want without judgement.
I would suggest that most athletes participating in the Olympics have made far greater financial sacrifice than anyone on this site.
