Kudos to John and Mark Piggott and the team at Taylor Square Newsagency on Oxford Street in Sydney for being open at 10am. Check out the tweet from a happy crepe paper shopper.
Good stuff. The tweet is an excellent example of word of mouth today – it reaches more people faster. All of Kitya’s 575 followers received this tweet.
Newsagents mentioned in this way on Twitter need to respond on the platform and appreciate the mention. BTW, Taylor Square Newsagency has the best magazine range in Australia. This and their long opening hours are their point of difference.
Congrats to them . are there many newsagents that do hours like that 10 Pm seems a but extreme to me
From memory they are only closed four hours a day. It’s a busy part of Sydney.
There is a 24hr newsagency in Aspley in Bris…
We’re actually scared of twitter. We’re very focussed on keeping are customers happy. And 99% of them appreciate it. There is a tiny % of people who are just plain nasty . Doesn’t matter what you do they’ll whinge about it. If one of them got onto Twitter they’d be so vindictive it would counteract the good word of the other 99%. Let the dog stay sleeping.
Ricky, with respect you can’t control what people say now so better off you’re in that community and listening.
I’ve been on Twitter for four years it’s been a good experience.
Thanks for the mention on your blog Mark. Yes, our mag range is truly amazing most days of the year, and customers often tell us so every other day, thus supports our team who work very hard in maintaining it. Our card range is very different as well, if only all categories were as strong and unique for us. Something to work on. BTW we are open 24 hours 7 days. On the very odd day like xmas we do close for about 18 hours and even then there is a riot and customers who make comment as to why we were closed. Ugh
Thanks for the comment Mark. Sorry about getting the hours wrong. You should be very proud of your magazine range. It’s sensational.
