We have a large ex South African population here and tried biltong but without much success. However we dont seem to be able to dio the impulse thing very well as our choc bars etc dont go that well either. I would suggest biltong rather than beef jerky is more recognisable. Similar product the former has more spices and salt.

We sell quite a range of it (all the different flavours) and it ticks along nicely.

we all have a few jerks who are customers. the trick to leaving work happy at the end of the day, is forgetting that handfull of jerks and remembering the hundreds of good and fun customers we all have,

We tried some over winter and whilst we didn’t think it would initially sell I managed to get through 5 boxes of the stuff. I think the real afficianados of this stuff would probably not buy the prepacaged stuff and would rely on home made or more specific suppliers of the stuff.
I remember trying some in the US some years back and when I tasted the stuff we had in the shop it was chalk and cheese and I’m no great fan of the stuff.
