The Reed Gift Fair starts in Sydney today. If you can get to Darling Harbor over the next four days I suggest you do. This fair is set to be attended by more newsagents than any recent newsagent trade show – gifts are now that important to our channel and the range of products on the trade show floor are that diverse, well beyond what you might calls gifts.
I love the variety of product, the challenge to redefine what a newsagency can sell. The next four days are an excellent opportunity for newsagents who want to chase growth and change.
Already been. The wholesalers are as excited to see us as we are to embrace gift ware.
They seem to see newsagents as a wonderful growth opportunity which is a pleasant change from the usual ‘the sky is falling’ newsagent fairs..
Will definitely go again.

Do any of the gift fairs ever come to Perth? Can’t see me getting over east any time in the next few years, but I’d love to try more giftware.

Vicki,
Giftfares are worth the effort. It’s always better to see a product displayed before you buy it. That said, a lot of our gift sales come from companies operating out of Perth – H&H and Artique so make sure you’re on board with them. It takes us up to 2 weeks to get stock from WA which is frustrating.
Good Luck – our gift sales are now on par with our card sales and as they reached parity they have lifted our card sales. Win Win.
Good Luck.
