Hello the next wedding sell out

UK magazine Hello is selling out everywhere. We along with many other newsagents arre chasing stock.  Based on demand we could have sold three or times what we were supplied.  I would have thought there would have been considerably more stock in the system because of the Royal Wedding coverage.  Unfortunately, that does not seem to have been the case.

We got our normal supply after requesting double 3 weeks ago (plenty of notice given I would have thought)
Sold out on day 1 and have requested more but no reply as yet. My supply/returns have been a sellout for weeks and weeks and weeks hence my request to increase but it fell on deaf ears and my customers are furious that they cannot have a copy of this mag.
Why is it that this is a constant in our lives this over/under supply??
We are a compliant agency with edi xchangeit and that should give the distributors enough info to get our allocations right and to get rid of oversupply but it just goes on and on and our requests for more of something that sells falls on deaf ears.
I bet there are little holes in the wall in some states who have copies already thrown into returns. This industry sucks

Who dropped the bundle here?? They must be VERY embarrassed. We DID get more than usual, and so our routine and Putaway customers all had their orders filled, with some over for extra sales during the day. Then we began the order list for impossible to get copies……….
I have not yet topped ANY wedding mag… we have farming customers who come to town once a month…. they have money, they have heard of the Royal family, they will still buy next week…. I will do late returns……

I think our town is full of republicans! No appreciable increase in sales of any wedding mag here. Lots of comments like “haven’t we seen enough ” or “good god, not the royal wedding again!”
