More and more magazine publishers are using this blog as a resource for learning what newsagents think. They usually find the blog through a Google (or other) search and then read all the comments posted by newsagents and others on a topic.
I have been contacted by three publishers this week, two in Australia and one overseas. Each commented that they appreciated the frankness of views and that comments here had guided their plans for activity with newsagents later this year.
I mention this today as a reminder that readers who stop by here are interested in what newsagents think and to say thank you to those who do contribute comments.
As I have mentioned to publishers I have spoken with, I am happy to use this place to pass on genuinely valuable and useful information publishers are keen to get out to newsagents.
Hi Mark
You are indeed capturing an audience from different segments of the broader publishing market – I am a very regular and avid reader. I often link to your posts for my market of advertising buyers and sellers. (MediaScope promotes over 2,500 niche, alternative and emerging advertising options including magazines in over 40 genres) Ad buyers can gain valuable coal-face insights – and magazine sellers/media owners for the very reasons you highlight. Keep up the good work!

Hi Mark
One of the great things about this blog are the comments, you have avoided the rant that goes on elsewhere. And that of course make ANB more vaulable as a tool.

Denise – here here! This is where I come first thing in the morning. I know I am going to get a spin free view. I have learnt plenty in the last year of being a regular including stopping bagging magazines.

I’m another publisher (of a membership magazine) who stops by regularly to see what’s shaking. This blog is always thoughtful, well-expressed and gives me lots to think about regarding getting our mag onto the newsstands. I’ve always wanted to drop a line to say thanks, so I guess today’s the day!!

We’ve been reading your blog for a few years now and have found it very insightful. It has helped us make decisions for our magazine, that would encourage a better relationship between us and newsagents. We both couldn’t survive without each other, so it’s best to work together!
