100 Things To Do Before You Die

mag-traveller.JPGWe are promoting the latest issue of Australian Traveller magazine at the counter, in a successful impulse location for us.  Even though this issue has been on sale for one day, we ordered more stock as we expect it to sell very well thanks to the TV campaign and the theme of 100 Things To Do Before You Die. We also need the extra stock to promote the title with our weekly women’s magazines – a location from where this title sells well.

We would usually sell 2 copies in this store. I expect we will sell six of this issue.

One challenge for the title is where newsagents locate it. They usually place it with travel magazines whereas it is far more likely to sell when put with the weeklies.

Not sure why it matters but in the store 2. We will easily sell the six by being proactive with the title. Some may stick for the next issue.

Andy the two titles are quite different. While I don’t have the numbers, I’d expect that around five or six time more copies of Reader’s Digest are circulated to newsagents than Australian Traveller.

I am thrilled that Australian Traveller is on TV and that viewers are told to buy the title at their local newsagent.

So Mark you would over look the fact that you may be oversupplied a title if they say buy from a newsagent?
I can see where Andy is coming from in one blog you complain you get 6 but sell 2 but in this blog you ask whats it matter how many you get?
You are always going on about supply and sell through and getting your money back on shop space and rent ect but would be prepared to overlook it for this title.

I have not said that at all Mary. This post is about a magazine which is being promoted on TV to drive traffic to newsagents. I have sought more stock because I can sell more than sent.

I am revising my sales expectation to 16 copies for this issue based on weekend sales.
