The latest issues of Blitz magazine and Golf magazine came out yesterday with the same barcode. It took Gordon and Gotch until 11:55am today to issue advice – a day and a half after many newsagents would have discovered the situation. The support team at Tower Systems was onto this immediately with advice for users of the Tower newsagency software on how to handle the situation. Gotch knew yesterday and should have been more proactive. As to how two magazines can have the same barcode … nuts!
This is the first time and not the last. I have same situation with two magazines on Friday.

oh no……now newsagents will always have non-compliant data and the distributors will have all the right in the world to say our data are shit. (because it’s them who send us faulty data)

If they have sent non-compliant data, can each of us charge GG a fee . If it works for them, it should work for us.
$275.00 including GST should be fine.

I have only just had full supply re-instated after Gotch and Fairfax decided that we had been severly affected by cyclone Yasi after advice given to them by QNF. We had barely a puff of wind. I would love to charge them for the loss of business.

Carol , i had no dramas from GG but Fairfax did stop me for the first few days but i do respect that descision from them . The media had half the state written off so i believe they made the choise that you are effected by it and i am sure they did not want to charge anyone when they are wiped out or closed because of yasi .but then again i have no idea of your situation .

There was another newsagent affected the same as us. Gotch just could not get the deliveries started again despite assuring us they had re-instated supply. There seemed to be one stuff up after another. We had received about three normal deliveries after Yasi and then they stopped. We have had lots of apologies but they don’t help pay the bills. They even mangaged to get my account to me but no magazines!
