We received this Google magazine yesterday … ten years too late. Okay there may be some late adopters who will pay money for a magazine on Google, but seriously how many will there be? Certainly not the quantity I have been supplied. I’d have taken five copies if I had a say, not this many. Every new title newsagents receive has to replace another title … otherwise we create displays where covers overlap and that takes us to the magazine layouts of the 1980s and that would be a bad retail move.
Magazine distributors have an obligation to consider the impact on newsagent space, labour and cash of these new titles they so readily ship to us in sometimes concerning volume.
Our’s was put in the returns bin as soon as it was unpacked.

David,
The problem isnt the content, its the medium. People looking for information about internet-based topic are unlikely to be doing so using a print medium. Its kind of like having a website about how to get the most out of your newspaper …

David I did look through the magazine. It is so yesterday. SEO techniques evolve. The best place to discover what is right for today is to look online. The proof will be whether the magazine sells.

This magazine is not about effective search techniques using Google as one would think at first glance of the cover. Poor marketing. The magazine offers a good overview and starting point for SEO in small business but misses out on the cutting edge techniques. Obviously anything relating IT in print is always going to be “yesterday news”.
