Network Services sent out this book, Losing the last 5kg by Susie Burrell, to newsagents yesterday. It’s a book! With a magazine margin! With display challenges! Unlike my previous blog post, I an NOT HAPPY to sell this book. It has no local community, no newspaper or magazine connection. There is no reason for it to be sent to us other than for Network Services to make money. We rely in magazine distributors to be fair in their dealings with newsagents. The distribution of this book is, in my view, grossly unfair. It is an abuse of the trust newsagents place in Network Services.
We source our cheap books through a number of suppliers and Network/GG are not on this list.
If we receive any books from these two they are topped and the cover is early returned. If they then complain that this is a full return they are informed that we have told both not to send any books and if they ignore this then they will only get covers to prove they we have not
sold it. If they continue to send it, then the titles are classed as unsolicited goods.
AARON does this system work? do you spend hours arguing and trying to get credits?
the few times I had to do it it took a lot of arguing but they do not send them now, so yes it works
question time,
so we are under supplier agreement with the 2 distributors to be sent magazines right> and i have read somewhere where customer service was using the “it is in your contract” arguement.
so, would anyone know if the 2 distributors are in breach of this agreement. If yes, then we can tell them not to send books….. and if they continue to send books… we have a case to ACCC for unsolicited stock.
An even better question is, if all mags are scanned by a machine, how can it tell what is a full mag and what is a cover?
What about the Stampers last week???????
