We are trying a range of books at the end of one of our card aisles. We made the move as we figured that these particular books are an easy add-on to a card purchase and a valuable margin builder to the sale. The titles were selected based on what we know to be the interests of many of our customers.
This most was one of a series of changes made in the last week to the store, embracing our mantra of perpetual change.
Indications are that the change is working for us.
I have done this with an area that last month was 120 pockets of magzines and so far it is working a lot better than the magazines ever did .
Would someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction in regards to a wholesaler of good (cheap) books we can introduce into the shop? I just went to order the Network offer that was emailed out yesterday of their firm sale paperback books but found out they would have to be put on back order and will have to wait several weeks for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i would also like to ask if anyone can recommend good book wholesalers in WA.
also. can anyone share what line of books worked for you?
shaun, did you have to convert the magazine pockets for books?
give ABW a go or Herron book ABW- australian book wholesaler
yes i had to modify my magazine stands , i pulled the magazine stand out put in slat wall and went and got some shelves made up . it blended in perfect with my shop fit that is only 3 years old
You can also try Axiom Publishing. The margin is the same as ABW (on return. Higher margin on firm sale obviously) but the ordering and returning procedure is much simpler and quicker.
We use Victorian Book wholesalers, good margin and sale or return.
can anyone provide me with a list of margins for stock sold in newsagency
