The new low price sticker on the cover of Paranormal which went on sale yesterday obscures a key image on the magazine cover. While I can understand Gotch wanting to pitch ‘new low price’ I think they covered an important element of the cover artwork – is it the face of Jesus? Now before anyone gets het up, I think it’s a bit of a laugh. Personally, I don’t take this magazine too seriously.
While I am on about these new low price stickers though, I have seen them on several issues of imported titles in a row, indicating that the price is not so new. Indeed, this was pointed out to me by a customer on the weekend. They said it was false advertising.
on the other side, check this months Racetrack mag, someone is thinking for once, magazines barcode is placed right where we newsagents would place our sticker, what a great idea, check it out, cant send a photo would take me all day. Wish more mags would use this idea.

Rob I only see only problem with that and that is it has always been my instruction to scan the barcode on the magazine not the label for it is easy enough to transfer a cheaper price sticker to a dearer magazine.

Not so much with a laser printed label as the toner cracks and the barcode will usually not scan.

we tried placing label over the barcode as we now have full face display of mags (rather than see lots of little white labels)but is often hard to spot label as the location varies. If publishers could have a consistant barcode placement it would look 100% better.By the way have cut range from 1200 pockets to 700 and sales have increased !. Full face mags is working really well and looks sensational.
