ACP is advising selected Melbourne and Sydney newsagents of a special release of Woman’s Day next week’s magazine out tomorrow. I am guessing that this is a Julia Gillard special edition. I like special editions as they usually drive a bump in sales.
Womans day has done country newsagents no favours by not supplying us with the special issue until monday. While it is all well and good to advertise the issue as instore we have turned at least 20 customers away this morning who think it is my fault.

I don’t think it’s that they don’t regard country newsagents Luke, it’s simply that it’s logistically impossible. Rushing out a special issue on a Friday for something that happened on Thursday means it was printing overnight and is probably only just making it onto trucks now.

They were put on trucks about 9pm Syd metro.
Customers are amazed at spped of getting it out, but not buying.
why would you want it anyway you would only loose sales for this weeks issue ,when you will still get the sales next week anyway
The problem I have is that it is advertised as being available Elise, so customers expect us to have it. If they rushed to market then they should have supplied the newsagents that have been supporting the title every week from day dot not just a select few.
received our copies at 5.00pm last night.
Did get ours friday or saturday as invoiced and guess what, did not get them this morning either. That worked well didn’t it?
What were the allocation pre requisites?
Brett I am not sure other than that the Friday allocation was for some Melbourne and Sydney newsagents. We received ours on Saturday but only found them in the recycle area of the centre today.
Just curious, we are well placed in Connections, sell our fair share of WD and yet were overlooked here. Sales will suffer as a result as customers were looking for the title on the weekend, some even passed an opportunity to buy elsewhere citing loyalty to my store but we had nothing to give them. Very sad.
