It is frustrating hearing from and reading about people who bought iPads from Apple stores on Friday and yesterday. My desk has several iPad attachments, as the photo shows, but it lacks the device. The Apple website still says my iPad will ship by June 7. My frustration is heightened by reports that TNT has had the devices ready to ship for more than a week. This is not good treatment of someone who committed to the device well in advance of the release date.
Mark,
I can only see your frustration on this one. I see the way Apple has gone about distributing this product but I can’t get my head around it. They make a pre-paid customer like your self wait, yet not only at Apple stores but also from Myer to JB hi fi, someone like my self could walk in and take one home on the release date. They obviously have plenty of stock if they can afford to supply their resellers when they should be looking after their consumers and worry about reselling later. It is a bit of a stuff up but ‘oh well’ I guess. cancel your order and pick one up today from a reseller after the way they’ve treated you!
Cheers,
Ryan
The funny thing is (or not so in your case mark) is that i went to a Myer store at 12.30 pm yesterday and i got an 32G ipad right there and then without having to pre-order or line up at some ridiculously dumb hour the morning before.
It’s pretty poor that Apple have treated their pre-order customers that way but once bitten twice shy next time and i’m sure you wont make that same mistake again.
Never mind. We know of one regional Apple reseller that got no stock at all.
My colleague also bought one well in advance of the release date, it turned up first thing on Friday as promised.
