Old XchangeIT closed

As planned, the old XchangeIT EDI platform has closed this afternoon.  There were only 57 newsagents left as registered for this old software.  More than 2,000 migrated to the new XchangeIT Link platform.

This has been a good migration.  The real beenfits will flow when we see more competitive offers which leverage the new technology.

Congratulations to distributors, POS vendors, newsagents and XchangeIT.

This is the kind of initiative that keeps an industry sharp. Well done.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

You have failed your most recent performance period assessment.

This means you have NOT submitted good, timely, and accurate data continuously.

According to the test results your data did not pass the Continuity assessment. This should be easy to fix, and get you back on track to pass your assessments.

Please contact the XchangeIT support desk at 1 300 551 212

    $$$’s

You are in danger of losing your reduced XchangeIT subscription rate plus not being able to submit Returns via the XchangeIT portal.

Submitting good, accurate, timely data is part of your agreement with the XchangeIT EDI platform, and is really quite easy to accomplish.

Please contact the XchangeIT support desk at

This is an email that i received from Xchangit …. who do they think they are , we are there customer not the other way round , when are suppliers in this industry wether it be magazines, papers, or providers like xchangit going to realise this without us they have nothing . No phone calls no nothing just a nasty email stating that they are going to hit me for more money if i don’t fix a problem that i didn’t even know was happening . What about when we are missing files , files not sent and when the end of day is still sitting in the out going box do we get to charge them for there stuff ups , no we don’t we just get run around in circles from suppliers back to xchangit .

It may have been a nothing email just stating that we need to fix a problem but that last little bit about stating that we are not following the agreement and with those little $$$$$$ signs just pissed me off

the thing is Max no one seems to look at the sales data anyway ,where does it go and whos job is it to look at it ,i wish to put my hand up for the job of annalysing the sales data every day ,what a great job …..they obviously do nothing . I know looking at my sales and returns info i get from my subbys that i either need to increase or decrease depending on what is selling , it is not rocket science . the only benifiet i see from sales data getting sent off every day is with networks sale based replenishment scheme but that only really works if you are located in a convenient disitance from the wharehouse .

    Precisely, Shaun.
What good is the data if they don’t use it?
All I hear from Newsagents is the constant oversupply, shortages, non arrivals & lack of communication.

Long overdue for the big guys to pull theirs heads in & help the ones that sell THEIR products.

exactly ,we sell there products we make them millions every year yet we get the pay now or loose your supply or come up to standard or we charge you more .The best comment i just love to hear from the distibutors is that it is up to me to manage my magazine supplies better ,what a joke come on get with it hop on the other end of the stick and just try and set a supply that you want and see how long it takes . I just had NDD sorted out i had a fantastic supply coming from them and they shut the doors so it just goes to show that maybe they need to operate how they do just to move forward (dosn’t matter if they knock o few of us out in the meen time )

    xchangeit….i also got that email….

you know what the most frustrating thing about that? i discovered some continuity problems early on in april…..tried calling around to seek help how to rectify this. i get the run around …call the other party…..then call the other party….. just going in a loop with no accountability.

worst part is…xchangeit says that if we fail X amount of periods in a year….they might remove early returns access……

this is BULL%&*%….. we did not purposely fail the continuity…..in fact i still dont know why it is happening despite reporting it and even talking to our POS provider.

I have had XchaneIT files dated 3 to 4 months ahead. I was getting NDC files dated September back in May and June. Obviously there is no system in place to ensure the dates are correct.
I have also received those blunt emails saying improve or your fees will increase. We also received phone calls etc saying they had not received our sales figures. Next thing we received a message saying that one of the mag companies had issues and please resend our sales data. Checking with the mag companies first before blaming us would have been a good start.
Other issues may not be exchangeit’s fault. Files coming through with different info to what is on the delivery docket. Different quantities, different magazines, magazines not listed on the computer file but are on the delivery docket.
They should clean up there house before blaming us.

I also got this email. I have some continuity issues for some suppliers and not others. How can this be when all data is apparently sent at the same time?

I spoke with XChangeIT yesterday abd was told to ignore the email – it was system generated. Obviously there is an underlying problem.

    Here we go again,
Exchange it, The quality of your data was unacceptable so I will increase your fees.

Magazines on the delivery docket, but not on computer file.
Computer file says one magazine and delivery docket says another.
One small bundle- no file received.
    Another one had different quantities.

Whether it is the magazine companies fault or Exchangeit is irrelevant. Don’t the mag companies own exchangeit?
They should clean up their act before threatening newsagencies.
How can I send accurate sales data if the original exchangeit data is wrong??

I got my mags two hours ago and just finished them
Now I will go and do my paper deliveries.

Did anyone else not receive their invoice for XChangeIT payment (Dec 2010)???? All we have received is an email today (Friday) at 2.41pm:
    Dear News Agent,

Please note, your account has an overdue Invoice and your files are LOCKED.

Kindly make arrangements for payments as soon as possible (Cheque, Credit Card, Direct deposit).

If you need assistance, kindly call us on 1300 551 212 between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday (EST)

**If you have already paid, kindly ignore this message**

    Kind regards,
    Support
    XchangeIT Link

Are we at fault here – should we have known when the invoice was due, even if it was never received?? Now, on a Friday afternoon, our files have been locked with no possibility of getting it sorted out in time to receive our Monday files.
    Grrrr very angry!!
