I love the Codewords 2010 Yearbook which went on sale yesterday. While it is late for the Australian marketplace, what I liked is the gift tag stuck on the front cover. This makes it an easy Christmas gift. The sticker peels off if you are not buying it as a gift. It is a small packaging enhancement such as this which can make an item appealing to more shoppers. I can see stickers working like this for seasons outside of Christmas.
This is a joke right? Why are we getting this title well after xmas and still having a cover price of $11.50?
It just shows the contempt in which we are held by either publishers or distributors.
Whoever got these things before xmas were unable to move them, so now someone decided to ship them off to those stupid newsagents and they can pay for this left over crap and help our bottom line. As with any xmas mags we get after December they are topped and early returned as soon as they hit our door, even the UK/US editions, we live in a now society but are still served up yesterdays news.
Luke, I agree it has been delivered too late. My comment was more about the pitching of the title as a Christmas gift.
We can un-Christmas the title by removing the removable sticker.
