When magazines go missing

We did not receive our magazines from NDD yesterday.  It seems the truck went missing and everyone on our run was affected.  While we found out the truck was missing early in the day, after a call, we did not have NDD magazines by the end of the day.

Thankfully, this does not happen often but when it does the knock-on impact is considerable to sales and the roster.

    This happened in Queensland when the truck carrying the mags turned over on the highway.

    NDD were great about it, even providing a picture of the accident (Hope no one was hurt), which we printed of to show cranky customers proof of what happened. It work a treat.

    We normally receive our NDD mags on Wednesday’s (all on the one day as of recently, which is another story), but this week they came on Tuesday 21/10/09. It actually worked out better for us having the magazine processing a bit more spread out.

    I have had an issue a few times with NDD where there has been missing stock. their proceedure (i am told) is to ask the transport company to locate it. if the transport company can find the origional pack, then it comes next day or so, it they cannot, then nothing happens. they will not do anything other than question the transport comany.

    gardening australia bulks didt turn up last wednesday. by the time the customer service centre is open, we have sold out of copies (thats without sending any to sub agents) nothing comes with thursday delivery, i phone and am told that i will get some if there is stock. nothing comes friday…….. stock comes monday. avid readers have already gone elsewhere to purchase, sub agents dont even want stock, i have to wait (store stock) 3 weeks before i return them.

    How a whole delivery can go missing is something I just cannot understand . We should be compensated for loss of sales . Yeah right
