Launching Prevention magazine (part 2)

fhn_prevention_counter.JPGFurther to my earlier post about promoting the launch issue of Prevention magazine, we have the counter unit located in among our women’s weeklies titles.  This was another right out of the box display – very easy and fast to setup.  Publishers should take note of this – the easier they make it for newsagents to promote their titles the more likely they are to be promoted as they want.

We will try and keep this display unit for at least the next three months to help build regular Prevention customers for us.

So far today we have sold five copies of Prevention.

The advertising campaign for prevention is certainly working. We have a stand above our newspapers with the Prevention in it. We sold out this morning. While our stand above the newspapers is great spot 90% of sales has come from customers asking for the magazine by name or ‘the magazine that gives you the flat belly’ for the

While we are clearly not eligible for promo material – not even a poster – we did sell a copy on Monday. But I’m not bothering to spend any more labour or materials on a campaign that we obviously don’t qualify for. Yes, some things like this are in our interests too, however if we reside on a one-way street in magville, our efforts are better spent elsewhere.

We have sold 1 out of the 4 that we received and that one was aleady on a put away before it even came out . It is a pitty that we cannot get enough to do a display to get the ball rolling a bit .Then the out come would be me probally winging about all the stock i have to send back with over supply .–can never keep soem of us happy

We did a big display and have sold out. We ordered more yesterday.

The publicity is huge and well worth the extra space – it’s one of the best mags we’ve had in that promo space this year!

The publicity is working fine and we have been surprised by customers asking for it by name. We did not, however, receive any POS materials for a display, but we have still managed to sell all but 1 copy on the back of tv ads.

Most newsagents would have a photo copier or a printer would they not??? Could you not make your own pos to push this title.
You want to sell it put in some effort, this is what seperates a good agent from a slack one.The good agent doesn’t rely on someone else to give them pos if they don’t get any they make it.
Mark has shown many times on here where he has copied the cover to make his diplays.
